  The influence of Latin Jazz has contributed greatly to the Jazz genre and this performance contains works from the likes of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Tito Puente, Chic Corea, and many more. Join the Boca Raton Public Library as we honor National Hispanic Heritage Month with Latin Jazz standards.

Matthew Nichols is a critically acclaimed percussionist teaching and performing in the South Florida music community. He performs with a variety of ensembles that perform different styles, such as the Florida Grand Opera, the Miami Symphony, Florida Wind Symphony Jazz Orchestra, and other jazz combos in the tri-county area.
Before living in Florida, he spent time as an educator and performer in Richmond, Virginia. He performed with the Richmond Philharmonic Orchestra, Richmond Wind Band, School of the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community (SPARC), and was invited as a guest soloist for the Richmond Symphony's Youth Orchestra 50 year Gala Celebration. He also performed with many jazz ensembles such as the Primetime Jazz Octet, High Noon jazz quartet, and pop music groups, such as Moruza and McBeth.

Matthew is joined with musicians from Colombia, Venezuela, and the United States, who come with strong training and a passion for making music.
