Library: Downtown Library Boca RatonBack in Boca by popular demand! The bell sounds, and this lifelong fighter, granddaughter of the Grand Rabbi of Jerusalem, immigrant child, teacher and union organizer bounds from her corner punching. But at 83, Trina forgets which direction her opponent is coming from. This is a story about family, faith and coaching a feisty prizewinner through her last big bout, in a ring filled with laughter and redemption. The physical journey from downsizing the home and dealing with the medical and elder care establishment, and the social journey involving the delicate weave of family relationships and the spiritual journey of a son from angry boy to soulful adult is the stuff of this tale. Boston-based Judith Black has been featured 12 times at the National Storytelling Festival and on stages from the Montreal Comedy Festival to the Art Museum of Cape Town, South Africa. She is the winner of the National Storytelling Network Circle of Excellence Award, storytelling’s most coveted laurel, and the Brother Blue and Ruth Hill Award. Judith has produced more than a dozen highly acclaimed CDs and videos of her work. Location: DTL Community Room All Contact: Program Service Link: www.storiesalive.com Status: Closed |
