Celebrate Library Week with a very special storytime with Jamilah Thompkins-Bigelow, the author of "Your Name is a Song."

Jamilah will read her book aloud and the kids can join in the "Readers' Theater" by acting out scenes in the book with her. Everyone is invited to attend but the book is best suited for kids Pre-K-3rd grade.

Your Name is a Song is an empowering story on the beauty, history, and meaning behind names. The book follows a young girl who grows frustrated with students and teachers mispronouncing her name, discouraging her from returning to school. The girl’s mother teaches her the musicality of African, Asian, Black-American, Latinx, and Middle Eastern names on their walk home.
This event is co-sponsored by the Butterfield Library, Desmond-Fish Public Library and, Howland Public Library.
