This elective workshop is designed to compliment and extend the skills gained from the core “Information Sources & Services” course. Using LIS resources, Diving Deeper will engage with the Library Bill of Rights, the Patriot Act, patron privacy issues, tiered-reference strategies, and models for data collection/statistics. There will be a focus on exploring these topics through the lens of medium-and-small libraries.
Priority for enrollment will be given to participants who have successfully completed a) the core Information Sources & Services course, b) another course in reference services, or c) have demonstrable experience in a public reference setting.
6 CE credits will be given for this course.
