Event Type: Continuing Education Workshop
Date: 4/25/2019
Start Time: 9:30 AM
End Time: 4:30 PM
Description:
Day 1 (April 25): Why is cataloging important? What should you, a busy library director, know about cataloging and classification? What are some easy tools to use?

This class will focus on all of those questions. We will explore the elements of a catalog record, do some hands on practice, and look at cataloging in the context of your libraries. You will walk away from this class with an enhanced understanding of why cataloging matters at your library and with practical knowledge of cataloging, classification, and holdings records that will make your job easier and improve service to your patrons.

Day 2 (June 6): At this session we will review cataloging work assigned on day 1 and continue the discussion about practical cataloging in your library. NOTE: The May 23 class will be from 1:00pm-4:30pm.

Attendees will receive 25 CEU, elective category after day 2.

IMPORTANT: Attendance at both days is required to fulfill the CPL core requirement. Completing this registration form will sign you up for both days.
