Event Type: Dept. of Libraries Webinar Date: 3/8/2021 Start Time: 1:00 PM Description: This course will cover the basic skills needed to provide information services to library patrons. Librarians enrolled in this course will learn about the reference interview, how to evaluate information resources, how to navigate search engines, and then work to pull all of these new skills together to provide stellar reference services to their communities. While building these skills they will work together to create a list of reference sources to share and keep after the course ends.
A full syllabus with all required readings and details on all assignments will be provided a week before the course. This course fulfills the core Information Services requirement for the Certificate of Public Librarianship program (25 CEUs).
