Collection Development Core Course

 This course will cover the basics of Collection Development and Management necessary to create a dynamic library collection that is responsive to the unique needs of your community. Topics will include selection of new materials in a range of formats and for all ages, collection assessment and weeding, diversifying collections, and creating a Collection Development Policy.

A full syllabus with details on all required assignments will be provided a week before the course.

This course fulfills the core Collection Development requirement for the Certificate of Public Librarianship program (25 CEUs).

The course will meet on MS Teams for four synchronous 90-minute sessions every Thursday in June from 10:00-11:30. Attendance at all four sessions is required.
