Library Records: Best Practices to Address the “Keep or Recycle” Question

Event Type: Dept. of Libraries Webinar
Date: 3/4/2022
Start Time: 1:00 PM
End Time: 2:30 PM
Are you unsure what to do with your records? Don’t know what is important to keep or recycle? The Vermont State Archives and Records Administration (VSARA) is charged by 3 V.S.A. § 117 with helping public agencies, including local governments and offices, in establishing, maintaining, and implementing active and ongoing records and information management programs. In this workshop VSARA Records & Information Management Specialist Meg Wheaton-Book will introduce some basic Vermont statutes and best practices for recordkeeping, and the process for collaborating with VSARA to build recordkeeping resources. With this baseline knowledge we will open conversation to participants to help set priorities for a working group comprised of librarians and VSARA Records and Information Management Specialists to develop record schedules, example policies, and tools for implementation.

Open to librarians and trustees!
This workshop will be held on MS Teams. Link to join is on the VTLIB CE website page:
