Join Director of the Department of Building and General Services Office of Safety & Security and former FBI Special Agent Bill McSalis for an overview of library security best practices. Topics covered will include building safety, de-escalating tense situations with people in the library, security communications plans, and more. Not only has Bill provided Active Shooter/Active Threat instruction to hundreds of law enforcement officers and been an instructor at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA, he also brings an understanding of Vermont libraries. He is married to a Vermont librarian and has presented for the Vermont Library Association.
