The Americans with Disabilities Act: What Libraries Need to Know

Event Type: Dept. of Libraries Webinar
Date: 9/22/2022
Start Time: 10:00 AM
End Time: 11:30 AM
The ADA was passed in 1990 but there are still lots of questions about what libraries are required to do to ensure that people with disabilities have a full opportunity to participate in all services and activities. This workshop, presented by Kathy Gips, Director of Training at the New England ADA Center, addresses requirements for older buildings that were built pre-ADA, special issues for historic facilities and methods to ensure program accessibility. Topics will include key accessibility features like entrances, restrooms and ramps.

There will be plenty of time for Q&A during the session. If you would like to submit questions ahead of time, please send to by September 12, 2022.

This workshop will be held on Zoom. Link to join is on the VTLIB website CE page.
